Ollama Chat Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Ollama Chat stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Chat History: Conversations between you and AI models (stored in Room Database)
• API Keys: Keys for accessing Ollama Cloud API (encrypted in DataStore)
• Settings: Theme preferences, default model selection, Tavily web search API key
• Chat Sessions: Session metadata including titles and timestamps

2. How Data is Stored

100% Local Storage:

• All data is stored in local SQLite (Room Database) and Android DataStore only
• No data is transmitted to developer servers (including Poexcel)
• Chat history is never shared with any third party except Ollama Cloud API

3. Third-Party Data Sharing

Data is shared only with the following services:

Ollama Cloud API

• Purpose: Generating AI responses
• Shared Data: User messages only
• Retention: Per Ollama Cloud policy (temporary processing)
• Note: Ollama does not use user data for model training

Optional Web Search (Tavily)

• Purpose: Real-time web search results (if enabled by user)
• Shared Data: Search queries only
• Requires: User-provided Tavily API key

4. Data Security

• API keys are encrypted using Android DataStore
• Local database is accessible only within app sandbox
• Network communication uses HTTPS encryption

5. Your Rights

• Data Export: Export all chat data as JSON from Settings → Export Chat Data
• Data Deletion: All local data automatically deleted when app is uninstalled
• API Key Change: Can be changed anytime in Settings

6. Backup and Restore

• Users can export chat data as JSON files to local storage
• Users can import previously exported JSON backups
• Backup files are stored in user-selected location only

8. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes through in-app notifications.
